Some couples just bring a quiet kind of joy to their session — the kind that feels natural, easy, and full of meaning. That was exactly the energy Maggie and Grant brought to their golden hour engagement session at George Wyth State Park.
We met in the tall grass, just as the sun started to dip behind the trees, casting that warm, glowy light across the whole field. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect for these two.

Maggie and Grant have been together for three years after being introduced by a very proud matchmaker duo — Maggie’s sister and one of Grant’s friends who worked together (and definitely enjoy taking credit). From day one, these two just clicked. Whether they’re playing sand volleyball with friends, curled up on the couch watching a show, or just spending time with family, their connection is steady, sweet, and full of laughter.
Their proposal story? Picture this: a sunflower field at Pheasant Run Farm, a quiet moment, a phone timer set up on scaffolding, and a perfectly-timed surprise. Grant got down on one knee just before the shutter clicked — and of course, Maggie said yes.

During their session, they told us they weren’t used to being in front of the camera — but you’d never know it. They leaned into the experience together, laughing, holding hands, and just soaking it all in. It was the kind of session that didn’t need over-planning — their chemistry did all the work.
When we asked them what makes them most excited about marriage, their answers were all about the journey. They’re looking forward to the ups and downs, the joy of just doing life together, and building a marriage rooted in support, love, and shared memories.
And we already can’t wait to celebrate with them on June 7th when they tie the knot at Kacena Farms in Vinton, Iowa— it’s going to be such a beautiful day, and an even more beautiful beginning.
